Who we are

Helback Corporation ("Helback", "we", "us") is a software development company based in Toronto, ON, Canada. This policy covers this website and the mobile applications we publish on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Questions about this policy can be sent through our contact form.

Information we collect

Website. When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you provide, used solely to respond to your inquiry. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate site traffic; we do not sell personal information.

Our apps. Each application we publish has its own privacy disclosure available on its App Store and Google Play listing, describing exactly what data that app collects and why. In general, our apps collect only the data required to deliver their features (for example, an account email for sign-in, or documents you choose to scan). We do not sell user data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

AI features

Some of our applications include AI-powered features. Content you submit to those features (such as messages or documents) may be processed by third-party AI service providers to generate a response. We select providers with strong data-protection commitments, transmit data securely, and do not permit our providers to use your content to train their models where such controls are available.

How we use information

  • To respond to inquiries and provide our services
  • To operate, maintain and improve our apps and website
  • To provide customer support
  • To comply with legal obligations

Data retention and deletion

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time through our contact form. For apps with user accounts, account deletion is available in the app or by contacting us, and we respond to deletion requests within 30 days.

Children

Our website and applications are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us through our contact form and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as Canada's PIPEDA, the EU/UK GDPR, or the California CCPA — including rights to access, correct, delete and port your data. To exercise any of these rights, reach us through our contact form.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above, and significant changes to app data practices will also be reflected in the relevant store listings.
